Last night I arrived home to a very sick Chihuahua. I did not put my CHOCOLATE covered power berries up high enough and Taco ate the 3/4 of a bag that was left.
The poor guy had vomited all over the house (only on the tile, God love him), drank all of his water, and his head was wet; he must have been in the shower trying to get more water.
I took him outside and he went in the bushes where he got sick three more times. As sick as he was, his true Chihuahua shined through, in the middle of getting sick he ran over to bark at the dog on the other side of the fence.
Back inside, I got him to drink water while I quickly did some internet research and contacted my friend who has two miniature pinchers. I had a feeling he had experience with this kind of thing.
Sure enough, one of his dogs had eaten about the same amount of chocolate. He had called animal poison control and what they said concurred with what I found on the internet. They are going to be sick, but it would take 10 times that amount to kill them.
I had him drink water to flush his system and took him out every 30 minutes until around midnight. Both sources suggested monitoring the dog and if there heart started beating erratically or they became lethargic to take them to the emergency vet.
I had the emergency vet's address saved in my GPS and was ready to go if I needed to. Luckily it didn't come to that. I woke up to check on him and take him out through out the night and he seemed to get better as the night went on.
Now about 20 hours since he ate the chocolate Taco has a chocolate hangover and I am Taco proofing my new residence.

My First Day Living in Los Angeles
Still on Eastern Time I woke up wide-eyed and bushy tailed at 6 am. Knowing that my office contacts come into the office around 9, I had a few hours to burn before heading into the office.
Brewing myself some vanilla bean coffee, I saw Taco's excitement as I asked him if he wanted to take a walk. Leaving the guest house I have rented from a friend of a friend, I instantly began to smile as I remembered hearing the weather man last night. "An unseasonably cold start to the week". If this is unseasonably cold for December, I am in heaven I thought, as I grinned from ear to ear.
Walking the tree lined street, along the perfectly manicured lawns it hit me; this is the nicest place I have lived since moving out of the house I grew up in! As I headed towards the Jeopardy Studios I notice how unbelievable different each of the homes in this neighborhood were from one another. While most of the houses are one story homes made of stucco they all have their own unique character. From the jungle to the beach walking down my street I felt like I had been through warp zones of tropical climates.
After our walk through the neighborhood, I finished getting ready and headed off to the downtown Los Angeles office. While the ride into the office was bumper to bumper it only took me 30 minutes to get to the office, the same amount of time it takes me to get to my office in Ohio. I finished up my mostly uneventful drive, thanks to my GPS, by finding a parking garage a few blocks from the office that only cost $5 a day.
Heading into the office I approached the security guards who are in charge of who goes into this 22-story building. I gave them my name and my contacts names and unfortunately none of them were in. After pleading my case and explaining I was here to start my first day the security guard finally gave in and showed me to the 7th floor.
Upon my arrival on the 7th floor decided to set myself up in an occupied office hoping the occupant did not show up before I was given an office to work in. Shortly after setting up in another employees office my bosses showed up and quickly whisked me off to my new working space, an office with a door.
Working in a cubical my entire career this is heaven. While I have been warned this is probably a temporary spot due to remodeling, I am keeping my fingers crossed that if I work hard and play nice I will be able to keep this office.
That afternoon, Roger, the man I refer to as the grease that keeps this office running, coordinated a lunch for myself and another girl who just started with the company. We were treated along with about 10 of our coworkers to a fantastic Italian lunch as we got to know our new coworkers.
As I finished out my workday in the office on a full tummy I relished in how much you can accomplish if you just put your mind to it. It seems like yesterday when I was leaving my first trip to LA and had decided that I wanted to work in the Los Angeles office, now in just 8 months, here I am, a Los Angeles employee.

Why do I want to move to LA?
In April of this year I went on a girls trip to Orange County. I was super excited about the trip with the girls, but wasn’t particularlly interested in the Los Angeles area. Spending our first day at the beach enjoying the beautiful weather, I quickly realized that this area was more than fake boobs and superficial people.
Over the next week we explored more of the LA area including Hollywood, Newport Beach, and Venice Beach. Being single with nothing to tie me down, I already knew as my plane left to go back to Ohio that I would be living in this city as soon as I could make it happen.
